What if the Bible and Christianity aren’t what we’ve always assumed? This section takes a critical look at scripture and tradition, exploring what the historical Jesus may have actually taught.
Often overlooked, the Gospel of Thomas carries weight equal to the synoptic gospels—Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Its teachings echo the voice of Jesus found in our earliest gospels. In this section, we explore all 114 sayings, one by one, seeking insight into their meaning and relevance.
Jesus’ apocalyptic message was urgent—and practical. He called us to be spiritually awake, yet also ready for the trials of this world: wars, famines, earthquakes, and upheaval. This section explores how to prepare for what lies ahead—not a second coming or rapture, but an existential call to readiness.
In this introductory video, I share the meaning behind the name Near the Fire and the vision that drives both this website and my YouTube channel. It’s about urgency, reflection, and uncovering the deeper truths of Jesus’ message—exploring scripture, history, and preparation for the challenges we face today.
